There were 140 participants attended the activity from various volunteer groups and agencies including; Hao Hak Mon Praya Chae club, Rajabhat University of Lampang and the Offices of Non-formal and Informal Education of Ngao and Huay Not districts. The weir building project was organized for the third time this year following the two builds in early March and October 2017. The purpose of weir construction is to slow the flow of water from Huay Tham in Tham Pha Thai National Park, helping its forests and the communities to better utilize water resources. It also helps to prevent flooding in the area and flash flood to the communities in the lower area of the park which would benefit local villages and society as a whole.
In addition, following the current wildfires and smog problem that causes a great impact on eco-system, Bangkok Airways also provided support to “Special Volunteer Task Force” by giving additional fire equipments to the team in order to help prevent wildfires more efficiently.
